Entry Fee:

Per race: R3200
Per team (R1600 p/p)

Deposit: R300 per team (R150 p/p)

R2 900 per team (R1 450 p/p)

How the entries work:

Covid restrictions have created havoc with sports events around the world. Entry fees become an issue. We believe that the situation will have subsided substantially by September, but cannot be sure. So, we have decided that the only thing needed to secure your team entry is to pay a R150 p/p deposit or R300 p/team. This is non-refundable.

NB: All teams need to have a dedicated happy ‘second’ to meet you at designated transition points during the race.

At the moment you will need to supply your own double boat and paddles. K2 or plastic sit on top double. We are looking into hiring boats for those who need. Keep your eye out on social Feral Duo24 social media platforms for updated info.

Competency Required

The Feral Duo24 race series will take place in wilderness areas. This means that teams will need a level of competency not normally required for many other organised events.

  • Knowledge of navigating a track by GPS is essential. At least one member of the team must be capable of navigating by GPS during the day and night. The team must practice this.
  • Teams must understand what to do in an emergency situation show that they
  • Understand what to do if they get lost.
  • At least one member of the team should have experience in basic First Aid.
  • Both team members must be suitably competent in all disciplines included in the event.
    Trail running, mountain biking and paddling.
  • The following Kayaking Skills must be mastered: managing a capsized craft in deep water; righting and emptying a craft in deep water; getting back in and continuing
    paddling.
  • Swimming 100m of any stroke.
  • There will be no competency checks at registration. By entering this event, teams acknowledge that they are competent in all the skills required to complete an event of this nature

Cancelation Policy

Event Cancellation Policy

  • If the event cannot be hosted on the scheduled date due to COVID-19 or due to any other unforeseen circumstances the event will be postponed to 2022.
  • All fully paid entries will be deferred to 2022.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

  • Should a participant wish to cancel their entry the Feral organization requires a written notification to info@feralduo24.co.za and the entrant will be refunded according to the refund policy below.
  • 90% entry refund from or before 1 June – 30 June
  • 80% entry refund from 1 July – 31 July
  • No refund from 1 August – substitutions allowed according to substitution policy.
  • No deferrals permitted unless the event is cancelled by the Feral organization due to Covid-19 or unforeseen circumstances or where the participants safety is at risk.

Substitution Policy:

  • Substitutions will be possible up until 1 week prior to the event at a cost of R200.
  • Please contact the race organizer for a substitution.
